So much going on in life I have failed to keep up my blog.
Bad girl :(
I moved back to Illinois a year ago from North Carolina. I love this small town but it is a lot different. Since I now split my time between the city of Geneseo (where my kids live with thier dad when he is in town and were I work) and Cambridge where I live with my new husband (and the kids live with us when Bill is out of town) the area just feels different. I am hoping that next year Alex and I will have a place in Geneseo to cut down on driving.
For those that do not know, Alex and I got married on Halloween of this year. We had his brother, Kenneth livin with us for a while. Kenneth is dying of liver failure due to his life long drinking. He ended up being admitted into the hospital 3 times in a week and a half from not taking his meds correctly and the state put him into a nursing home so he could be monitored better with his meds. Alex and I working full time and with the kids, we could not regulate his medications while we were gone all day. Kenneth would go across the street to the gas station, load up on sugary foods and then pass out and not take his meds when he was suppose to. I think it best that he did get put into a home.
Wow news: well really there isn't much news. We haven't been playing WoW in a couple of months. It makes me sad. I miss it sooooo much. When things settle down I want to play again. On a positive note, it has given us time to do things we enjoy out doors. We go hiking as often as we can and photograph everything lol.
Well I hope that everyone has a good holiday season and stay safe as you are out there fighting the crowds.

It has been a while since I last blogged. Been working a lot, dealing with crap in the homestead and the positive is I reconnected with my best friend Mandi!! I am so happy to talk to her again. She has been busy with work and planning her wedding and she just started schooling for nursing this year so we have been missing one another with me working nights and her being a day walker lololol.

Halloween is creeping upon us and I am not sure what I will be doing that night as of yet. I do know I do not want to take Alex's kids trick or treating, he can do that and spend his time with them. With me not being able to take my own kids, I really do not want to be taking his out.. selfish of me I know, but I really miss being able to do that with my kids seeing as it is my favorite holiday. I did last year with is kids and it was VERY emotional for me. I felt like I wanted to cry seeing all the kids out with their costumes and having fun and I couldn't share that with my kids but I had to put on a happy face while I was around his kids cause I didn't want to ruin thier time... it was difficult. Bill and I use to dress up with the kids and take them around the neighborhoods, I loved hearing all the excitement of the neighborhood kids and seeing all the great costumes. Being able to see the decorations of the neighbors and smelling the crisp October air, hearing the leaves crunch beneath our feet as we scurried along to the next house where treats awaited us... I really miss it. I was not allowed to celebrate Halloween when I was a kid because my mother believed that Halloween was a holiday that celebrated the devil. *sigh* I wish people would get information before committing an idea to a belief and then making their kids suffer for it. Maybe that is why Halloween has become my favorite holiday, because it was taboo for me as a child. *shrugs*

My new addiction is the Facebook apps. Ugh!! I can't get enough. With me not playing WoW anymore, I have replaced the WoW gaming addiction with the Facebook app games. I can't help it! When I was on Myspace, I was awesome on the Vampire Wars. I was a level 98 and now I had to start from scratch again. Oh well I guess the fun is the journey, right?

Oh yea, I have also reconnected with Kasey, another old friend from Minnesota! I love seeign pictures of her and her daughter. Marissa has gotten so big!!!! Well I am off, have a good one, untill next time.

Well I haven't posted in a few days. Life has been rather stressful here on the homestead.Been trying to figure out life and stuff and things.. blah blah blah. I can say I am rather excited that fall is here and we are in the month of October, which I absolutely LOVE. It rained all night (I would know since I work over nights lol) so I won't be able to go out and photograph anything. I wanted to see if I could catch a glimpse of the leaves turning colors. *sigh* It can wait I guess. I would *like* to try and do a photo a day.. lets see how that works out. I am going to just have to sit and crochet today before slumber call me into its sweet arms... after I go and look for a couple or coworkers on facebook. I bid you all a good day. I am very excited that I found some great new shows on Netflix! Alex had never gotten a chance to watch Meerkat Manor so I added seasons 1 & 2 for him along with re-watching the Hercules and Zena shows lol. We have 31 things in instant queue!! I am happy that Dexter and Heroes new seasons were added to instant queue but can't wait for Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives to be added also. For now I am stuck with having to find them on the net since I work when the shows air. OK I am off to bed so I can catch some zzz's before work tonight.

I went to work out last night and met 2 amazingly funny women. We laughed, joked and pushed each other hard in our workouts. We teased one of the women that she got to the gym 2 minutes before us, ran into the steam room to seem like she got all sweaty from working out instead of really doing the work to make her sweat. Good times!

2. If you could relive a year in your life, what age would it be, and why? Hmmm I like the age 28. I was most happiest with my body at that age instead of the following years striving to get back to the point of 28.

3. If you could go back and change one friendship in your past, who would it have been, and why? Michelle Overby probably. She was an amazingly creative person with a big heart. We missed out seeing each other's children grow and form into the people we they are today.

I don't think that there was an person I knew that I wanted to date but didn't. All things happen in life for a reason. What the reasons are will forever remain a mystery to me!

Season Openers

I have been waiting what seems like forever for the season openers of my shows. I finally got to see Grey's Anatomy opener this morning. I say finally like it has been available for weeks when it just came on last night. lol.
I was really sadden to see who died from the season finale but happy to see who got to live in the opener. I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats ;). So now we have 2 newlywed couples. Interesting.

Eastwick. Have you heard of this show? I am very interested in witches and paganisim. This show might have some potential. I will have to keep an eye out for it. Since I work nights I have to constanly check online for my shows to see if they are available for me to watch online. Luckily Hulu has a great selection of tv shows to watch!

Dexter season 4 starts on Sunday. That show will be on Showtime so I am not sure if it will be available to watch online or if we can simply purchase each episode on XBox 360.

I was reading a post made by my friend Melissa and she stated that someone asked her 'what she was' upon seeing her at work. Melissa does wear darker makeup, and jewelery that most people would see as Goth. The question the woman asked was What are you?, this got me thinking. Do the things we like as in fashion, music, art really say 'what we are'? I think our interest, likes, dislikes, beliefs, and life experiences all make up who we are... but what we are??? Isn't what we are best answered by: I am a mother, sister, daughter, friend, Christian, non believer, artist, or any other adjective that you want to place in there? I am asking you because I am not sure I fully understand the woman's question and would like to explore it further.

I think if someone asked me that question, I would answer with.. I am a mother, a Christian, a democrat, a wood finisher, an artist.. I would have a harder time answering WHO I am. I mean all of the things I have listed make up who I am but since they are so personal just saying I am a Christian does not really tell you who I am. For example religion is very personal, put 25 Christians in a room together and they may believe in all different types of things and the same goes with Pagans. Therefore it is harder to explain who you are this way. Have I confused you yet? lol I think I am confusing myself at this point. Grrrrrrr.

Oh I came a cross a new vampire themed book series. When I say new, I mean new to me of course. You can see the author's page for more details Claudia Gray. I was putting books away at work and found the first one titled Evernight and was intrigued. I plan to see if the library has the first book. *adds that task on her to do list* .... Crap! I just checked and they do not have it. *sighs* I guess I will have to buy it next week on payday. I still want to read the Wicked series also. Maybe I will make a list of books I want to read and place them on the right hand side under Currently Reading. Ya, that's what I'll do make a Plans to Read listing, that could end up being a long list!

Give Me Five of your favorite ways to be crafty or creative.
This one was soo easy for me to come up with, the only problem was stopping at 5!!! lol.

1. Crocheting. I learned to crochet in 2005 and couldn't imagine life w/o it. It is a creative outlet that I can take anywhere. Not only can I get the benefit of creating with my hands, I can make things for others that can last a long time as well and even be handed down from generation to generation and from family to family.
2. Photography. A picture tells a story. Not only the story of the subjects in the photo but also a story of the photographer. You can learn a photographer's style and what interests them by their work.
3. Scrapbooking. I do traditional, digital and hybrid scrapbooking. What a great way to preserve history. Be it personal history or world history, scrapbooking is a way to incorporate many different mediums into one final project.
4. Pixel art. I love drawing on the computer and seeing it be used to decorate other people's emails, websites and even clothes! I had someone pay me to make some graphics into stitched art. That was pretty cool.
5. Polymer Clay Sculpting. Sculpting is one thing I never thought I had in me but was pleasantly surprised at how easily my hands could form these amazing faeries, animals, goblins, etc. What fun I have had with sculpting! I need start more of it!

Some other things I do to feed the creative monster is make homemade papers, soaps, greeting cards, write poetry, garden, play video games, color (yes in a coloring book with the kids), draw, cook and bake.

Saw Movies

One thing you must know about me is I loathe horror movies. Could this be because when I was a child my mother was fascinated by them and I had to listen to the movies from another room as she watched late at night? Could it be because I have faced so many horrors in my own life that watching them as entertainment sickens me? The reason why I loathe horror movies many never be revealed. I can say that since being with Alex, I have tried to watch a few of these type movies because it is his favorite genre. I can honestly say that I have not seen one that has piqued my interest until this week. Alex has introduced me to the Saw series. The graphic nature of the movies does not interest me at all. The story line however, has me very intrigued. The idea of a person having to face near death experiences in order to truly change their way of thinking or their out look on life and making a choice to live through it all has been what captured my attention in this series. I say well done. I can admit that if it were not for the t.v. show Dexter, there would be no way I could even watch the horrific scenes of torture in the movies. Dexter, though 100% milder compared to the Saw series, got me use to seeing the blood. I can honestly say for once in my life that I want to see a horror movie now. My next one will be Saw 4. Wish me luck.

Layout Whore

I have this problem... I love layouts/themes. I change them daily.. sometimes several times a day. I have changed this theme/layout 5 times today. I am hopelessly addicted. I have my Halloween one picked out if I haven't figured out how to manipulate the blogger coding by then to create my own. I think I am going to end back up in coding again *bites nails* I don't want to end up spending HOURS and HOURS drawing and coding to get the 'perfect' look for my blog only to get bored with it in a few days. *sigh* The last time this happened I spent 5 years of my life glued to the computer non stop. The only positives about that experience (besides making money off of the things I created) was meeting some amazing women. Women who I am still in contact with to this day, 5 years later!!! Lets hope this go around I can keep that creative monster under control!

The only thing I am hating about all the coding in the themes so far is they always delete my widgets!!!!!!!!! I refuse to make new widgets ever time I get a hair up my bum to change the look of my blog. *pulls hair out*

10 Things You Think are Cool

These are the things that are on my cool meter right now…

Fingerless Gloves. I have a thing for them, I think they rock. End of story.
Netflix. Having a movie shipped to your house while still having endless movies available on your computer or XBox is totally the shiznit. I love that I can re-watch some of my favorite movies and t.v. shows!
Pumpkin Spice Coffee from Starbucks. It is a seasonal coffee and my friend Teresa and I were boycotting Starbucks for the whole summer until they brought back the Pumpkin Spice. Although we both have had one cup each since they came back, Thursday night we plan to meet up and get the our first cup together for the season. I can smell it now!
Vampires. I have always been fascinated with vampires. I watch movies and read plenty of books that have them in it. It is amazing how many series focus on vampires.
Faeries. I adore faeries. The magic they hold within is baffling. Did you know there are good faeries as well as bad faeries? Holly Black has a great series of books focused on that very topic. Check out Tithe, Valiant and Ironside if you get a chance.
Cross Tattoos. I have been on a search for a new cross tattoo. I have seen several that have tickled my fancy and even photographed them on complete strangers (with permission of course!). I love seeing the different art work and finding out what the cross tattoo means to those that get them.
Digital Photography. I am learning to become a better digital photographer. I love the freedom to manipulate digital photos that you could not do with 35mm photos.
Failblog.org. I visit this website everyday. I love laughing at all the crazy things! Engrish has me rolling as well. Good times, my friend... good times.
Crocheting. I have been crocheting since 2005. I still love seeing the end product of many loops hooked together and how they can become a masterpiece.

10. Autumn. I love when the weather becomes cooler, the kids are back in school, the leaves change color and it stays darker longer. Comfort food is acceptable to be eaten again in the fall and winter as we stuff ourselves in preparation for hibernation lol. I love the sound when the leaves crunch underfoot as we take strolls and admire the many colors of the season... yes Autumn has a special place in my heart.

Have you ever had the feeling you are living a lie and that the smile you put on your face from day to day could crumble at any moment and reveal the real you?

I sometimes feel this way. I feel that if people really looked into my eyes they would see all the hurt and sorrow that I mask. So as I always have since I was a child, I put on my big smile and stuff the feelings that only I know about into the little black box and put it away. Is it any different than what Bree on Desperate Housewives does? She keeps everything in order and wants people to see her that way. I don't see anything wrong with that. I mean who wants all their emotions and dirty laundry out in the open for the world to view? Certainly not me. I was just wondering if anyone else was this way .... or is it just me?

So I found this site that offers great templates BTemplates.com. There is one particular template that I think is amazing called Tired Girl go check it out if you get the chance. The only problem is I don't want to have to delete my current widgets in order to install the template. Recreating the widgets would be very time consuming as well *sigh*. I emailed them to ask how to adjust the coding so I wouldn't have to delete my widgets and hopefully they will get back to me. It is a beautiful 3 column template. I remember when I hosted my own blog and designed my own word press templates, I had so much fun doing it but when I took time off of the internet and closed down all my sites, I forgot how to do a lot of coding. It is fun for me to visit blogs that still use my designs, I put a lot into drawing each pixel on those layouts and the rewards I get from still seeing them being used is priceless. I was on the Mystic Gardens forum today and replying to a thread on making sigtags. My hand got the sudden urge to open PSP but it is not installed on this computer. I think before the month is over with it will be running on here lol. I want to design my own WoW theme using the doll bases I drew years ago. I will see how it goes making my doll base into a warlock before I decide to go into it further. Well I still can not leave comments over at Melissa's blog *phewy*. I haven't been able to hook up with her to see what the settings are. So my WIP is an Autumn afghan in dark brown, cream, orange and black. I am so excited that it is coming along nicely. I will have to take some pictures for you to see the piles of granny squares I have lol. I thought that granny squares would go faster than me crocheting rows and rows of double crochets. Since I developed Psoriasis over the past year it has been harder for me to crochet. The reason it has been difficult is I sometimes cut the tips of my fingers at work causing it to take forever to heal. (I have a cut on my thumb that still has not healed and it has been 2 months!) Well as a crocheter/knitter you would know you need to apply pressure with your thumb tips while holding your hook/needle and that has been hard. This afghan is slow going so far but it will be well worth the time I put into it. I will post pictures tomorrow. I am getting ready for work and will see you all again soon.

1. When you go to Wowmart, what one thing do you get every single time, besides a funky-wheeled squeaking cart full of frustration? 5 Hour Energy Shots. I can't leave w/o one.

2. What is something that people are currently “into” that you just don’t get or appreciate? Where I am at I see people with names tattooed across the side of their neck. WTF is up with that? I don't see it as attractive, it looks kind of trashy seeing every other person with a name across their neck and can I say unprofessional? I could see if it was on the back of the neck and hair would hang down over it in a business situation, but ooooh nooooo. Branding here is the in thing.

3. What is something that really hoists your sail that other people might feel “ho-hum” about? FINGERLESS GLOVES. I just find them to be attractive on males and females. Many people just don't get that about me *shrugs* oh well.

4. Favorite song to sing in the shower or car? Well... I don't sing in the shower. Ever. Like never. I may whistle now and then, hum a little tune, but sing? Puhhhh-leazzee. As far as the car goes, whatever tickles my fancy.

6. What advice in a nutshell would you give to new bloggers? You don't have to write as if you have an audience, it's a journal. Write to your journal and you should be ok. Now the fact that this journal can be viewed by the public, you should be aware that some things can be hurtful if you blog about someone in a negative way and they view it. Just something to remember!

7. What was the alternate name that your parents almost named you? Do you wish they had chosen it instead of the one they gave you? I have no clue. My mother named my sister Elizabeth and I after queens. *generic, rolls eyes* My youngest sister was named after my best friend in elementary school.

8. What in your life are you waiting for? Balance. Balance between work, home, exercise, church, Alex, kids, crocheting, photography, gaming, learning to play guitar, digital scrap booking, reading, learning to knit, learning to sew, friends, cooking, cats, sleep, watching movies, bowling, family... to name a few.

LoL!! I went blog hopping and found another site that has blogger backgrounds. I use to have this problem a long time ago when I would mess with blogs that I didn't host myself... changing my layouts several times a week... it is addicting. I wish I could install a java script to change the layout and design of my house so easily!!

I was up for 36 hours straight and then finally passed out at 5 AM this morning... it was 7PM while I finally awoke from my slumber and so far I am feeling ok. It gets hard for Alex and I st spend quality time when he works days and I work nights, so when I get a chance, I will stay up as long as possible and we hang out doing things.. just the 2 of us. We went bowling at a new place and it was awesome! They haven't been opened very long so business was slow, but here is what really impressed me. We ordered food.. grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. While ordering, the cook asked if we would like anything else on the sandwich... I have never been asked that while not on a restaurant. He said bacon was extra and I informed him we were vegetarians so that wouldn't be a problem, we would like just tomato and onions on one of those grilled cheese sandwiches. What he did was tore down the grill completely to cook our grilled cheese. What does that mean??? He completely cleaned the entire grill so that there was no meat contamination in our food!!! We get REALLY ill if we have meat ingested into our system. This cook said he was a vegetarian for 5 year and know what it is like and out of respect for us he cleaned the grill. That here is what will keep us going to that bowing alley for as long as we live here. I can't even begin to tell you how many times we have asked food establishments to change tongs when getting us something so we don't get meat in our food and the person gives us such attitude for asking that. All we wanted was a clean utensil used to grab our food so we don't get meat on it and they have a problem but this cook totally tore the grill down for us and we didn't even ask!!! That was AWESOME!!!!! Kudos to Will ... you rock.

So Alex and I have decided to quit smoking and replace that habit with working out. I am happy to report that I am 2 weeks smoke free and that I officially lost 2 pounds last week. It may not seem like a lot to many people but it is a good healthy amount to lose. One to two pounds a week is exactly what I am aiming for so I am right on track!

So yesterday I was taking some photos that I wanted to post just to have something to look at lol. I want to try and get in a habit of doing a photo post at least once a week. I know there are some memes that focus on just that and I may participate if the theme strikes my fancy. Maybe I should do it if the themes doesn't strike my fancy as well to pull me out of the comfort zone, eh? So I am going to post some pics for you.

It is hard to believe these photos were all taken with a cell phone, eh? Some wood stacks, because Alex's dad (A.J.) sells split wood all year around. I like seeing the piles and piles of it, very rustic. Peppers, flowers and bird house pics were taken from A.J.'s garden.

Alex and I have been working out at The Rush for the past week. We both met with a trainer and are well on our way to healthier lives. We have quit smoking and substituted that habit with working out. It feels good to get back into the gym. After not having a trainer pushing me for the past year and a half, I really missed it. I just wish I had a female friend to work out with :( Alex has a couple of friends that are joining our gym and can work out with them while I am working, but the friends that I have that do work out belong to other gyms. *sigh* I guess I am alone in this one. *shrugs, Oh well* I would like to get an ipod to listen to music then. I was reading a book while on the treadmill but it wasn't very easy. I will keep you posted on what I end up doing.

Ooooohhhhhhh I forgot to mention that after working our, Alex and I went and had lunch and I noticed a sign that said yarn shop which made me drool of course!!1 Alex has been wanting me to teach him to crochet so I thought I would have him come into the yarn shop with me. It was like walking into a little slice of heaven!!! I signed up for a knitting class. (Pixie would be so proud of me lol) I also asked about spinning classes and was pointed into the right direction for that too. I just can't WAIT to learn more. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!

There was a lady at the grocery store in line in front of me and I liked her tattoo so much I asked to take a picture of it. I have a thing for cross tattoos, can you tell?

This guy at work came in and I asked to take a photo of his tattoo because it rocked!!! I loved the triquetras in the cross. I have a triquetra ring that I adore.

Have you ever seen the Showtime Drama Dexter? I didn't think I would like the show due to the content but I have found that I am very drawn to the story line. I loathe scary/horror themed movies or t.v. shows but this one really is interesting. Put aside the blood, the murders, and some of the graphic scenes I like it. lol A lot to put aside, eh? Well I just finished season 2 and have to wait to see season 3. I have no idea if the current season (4) will be available online this fall as it is aired, we will have to look into that. I can't wait for the regular fall shows to start.. Grey's Anatomy had me in tears every single episode last season!!! I can't wait for this one!!!!! TTFN

Back Into Azeroth

I have decided to dive back into Azeroth. I had to take some personal time away and really decide if going back was in my best interest. I LOVE playing WoW but I have other things I am wanting to devote my time to as well. Most of you know I have pretty much left the internet the past year and a half, spending all my time on the computer ingame. I have been doing a lot of photography in the past year and a half but not much scrapbooking and that alone makes my heart sad. Thankfully my friend Lisa at work needs a scrapbooking friend and we have vowed to rekindle that flame. She is moving this week and once she gets settled, we are starting girls scrapbooking night. I can't wait! At least I have been crocheting still!! I have made a few baby blankets this past winter, some fingerless gloves for Alex and I am currently working on a queen size afghan. *wipes brow* This is a large project!
Well I am going to clean house and get to sleep sometime today since I work tonight.

It's my weekend!

I have the next 2 days off and then a 6 day work week. I talked to one of my mgrs and she is pushing to have me get full time hours as I expressed an interesting in going fulltime. Looks like the sift she is submitting for me will be Thursday - Monday 10P- 7A. I will have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. That is fine with me as Tuesday nights are $1.00 a game night up at our bowling alley lol. I have been practicing my hook w00t! I have been having fun learning the hook, I must admit.

I really want to go back to playing WoW but not sure if I will have any fun doing it now. My guild members play at night and I will only get to play with them 2 days a week. I am not sure what I'll be doing as far as that goes. Oh here are some new pictures to share.

Start work tomorrow

I am excited to start working tomorrow and get out of the house for a little while each day. I need this. I need the feeling of contributing to society again. Six years of being a stay at home mom was more than enough time for me to realize I need to work outside of the home. Even though I am with Alex now and I really enjoy our time together, playing games, reading books, learning music, playing chess, writing etc.... I still need time to myself. One of the things I never got when married to my ex was Me time. Time just for me to reflect, to gather my sanity, to ponder life. Bill was on the road for 8 months out of the year leaving me to be a married, single parent of 3 kids, 2 dogs and tend to a 2 story house and lawn. I was on call 24 hours a day. When Bill did get home, I then had the role of wife I needed to fulfill along with doing the laundry he had accumulated while on the road. I am grateful that I had those years to see my girls grow and witness all of the milestones I had missed when my son was young, but the time for me to stay at home has come and gone. I long for the interaction with other people. Working the over night shift fits me too as I am a late person. Actually, I am an anytime person but I love staying up late. I have worked several over night shift jobs. Wish me luck and I shall report how the experience of easing back into the work field goes.

I went to Walmart yesterday and found out that I will be making $1.30 dollars more than at Kohls and that I can't work for both of them (even pt) as they are competitors. I have decided to stick with Walmart since it is the over night shift and I will be making more money. Even though Kohls has benefits after 60 days, I will look for another pt day job that has benefits and not conflict interest and time schedules. Cross your fingers that I find something like UPS!

OMG we went fishing today and I caught the cutest lil thing lmao. I couldn't believe that it has survived in the pond.

Working again! I am very excited that today I got a job offer for Kohls and WalMart. I will be working part time for each but days at Kohls and over night for Walmart. I had worked for Walmart once before on over nights from Midnight to 5Am and then went to my full time job from 6Am to 4PM. It was hard at first but I got use to it. I am just so glad that I am finally employed again after being a stay at home mom (SAHM) for 6 years I will actually be working for someone else again. I did have my graphics design job for 5 of the years that I was a SAHM but it wasn't the same as clocking in for someone else.

Finally Back!

After a long time of not blogging, I am finally back! Freakin' w00t! Many things have changed in my life since I was last blogging on Blogger. I did have my own webspace for 5 years but since one of the major changes in my life happened this year, a divorce, I no longer have the funds to keep up the websites I once had. I also moved, twice. First to Virginia and then to where I currently reside in North Carolina. I am currently living with my boyfriend whom I met on World of Warcraft. Together we have the cutest lil feline tabby named April. This is y first cat as I have been allergic to cats. I was suffering at first but I have gotten immune to the cat dander.

I am so glad I found all my login info for blogger but I am really not happy that originally had set this up on my own webspace and when my server crashed, I lost 4 years of blogging info. I just cried over that. So much of my kids memories went right out the window so I learned the hard way to BACK EVERYTHING UP!!!! Now I will have to start all over again. I hope you join me in my journey from this point on.
